Some examples of private art lesson student work is below: organized in descending order by age (top adults, and descending towards high school, then middle school age students).
Private lessons are one on one instruction in my studio, 1 hour long, and are held weekly (ages 9-adults). Students maintain a weekly time slot/day, just like you would for any class. Email me with inquiries and I will send you my policies/pricing. I instruct Monday-Friday 4-8pm, and some Saturdays. Times are limited. I currently have availability for 2 more students.
I have been an instructor of art for over 18+ years, various age groups, at the college level, and various locations. I currently instruct private lessons from my home studio in Newark, DE, ages 9-adults.
Lessons are weekly, and I recently opened up adult workshops in my art studio. More info can be found below. All levels are welcome, from beginners, hobby, artists and tattoo artists, looking to refine their drawing/painting skills.

It's important to me that students of all skill levels learn the principles of art as well as time honored techniques, through practice and application. Students gain an understanding of these principles and techniques through practice and working along side me during our lessons/workshops.
The importance of an arts education is not just to make art, but it helps students to gain problem solving and critical thinking skills, gain self confidence, and value in one’s self. Art helps students to cultivate skills that can be applied to other areas of study as well as their everyday lives. And Art makes life beautiful and better!
I begin all students with life drawing, where they will learn foundation drawing/sketching, and how to "see", just like a musician is learning to train their ears to "hear". I train my students to see, which helps them to draw and paint with great accuracy. After sketching, we move into learning about value and shading, and how to render forms three dimensionally. If students are interested in color and/or painting, we proceed into dry color media where students will learn color theory and mixing, and then proceed into painting. It's the "crawl, walk, run" model that I follow with my teaching style with great success. Students that have continued with me for years, we explore subject matters and materials of their choice.
Students receive the benefit of all of my knowledge of art materials, techniques, as well as art history, all within a safe and comfortable working environment.
